Music is perhaps the greatest wonder known to man. While its base purpose is ultimately to entertain, music has the ability to connect people, transcending any and all barriers, as well as reach within the depths of one’s soul in a way few other things can. It is for these reasons that I am thankful each and every day for music, for the privilege it is to be a musician, and for the opportunity to compose and add to the unfathomably vast number of works for people to enjoy.
While the inspirations behind my compositions are many, personal lived experiences ultimately guide my pen the most. I aspire to write music that convey elements of the human experience, aiming to reach and connect others through our shared lived experiences, while also aiming to capture moments of beauty that are pleasant to the ear. As a result of this, my pieces are often narratively driven in nature while sticking primarily to traditional forms as they craft a story through melody, harmony, and rhythm.
Composer, Pianist, Patriot
It is from humble beginnings that my music career and life, for that matter, began. It was purely by chance that I started taking piano lessons at a young age, all thanks to a chance expression of musical aptitude at the age of three. My loving parents soon afterwards enrolled me in piano lessons, which I would continue from then on all the way through high school. Throughout this time, as I aged and matured my love and connection for music grew, and it was at some point during the seventh or eighth grade that I knew my future resided in music, specifically composition. I would continue my pursuit of music at university, where I majored in Theory and Composition at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater, where I had the privilege of studying with some of the most incredible teachers and musicians I have met to this day. Since obtaining my undergraduate degree, I have unfortunately had to split my focus between working other jobs to cover the costs of living while trying to find time to compose and produce recordings of my pieces. I hope soon to be able to return to the world of academia in pursuit of my masters degree and committing fulltime, henceforth, to music.
